About Lifestyle Campers
Background
Lifestyle Campers was founded in 1999 by John and Terri Swinglehurst, who left successful corporate careers to design and build affordable, comfortable camper trailers. John operated out of a small 80 square metre workshop at Rocklea, Queensland, where he dedicated many hours to designing a new style of camper trailer. With help from his brother David and a friend from his motor racing days, they engineered an innovative soft-floor, side-fold camper trailer prototype called The Explorer.
Nearly two decades since its inception, Lifestyle Campers remains a family-owned and operated business, now based in a 2,500 square metre facility in Slacks Creek, QLD, with over 40 team members. The company expanded through multiple relocations — from Rocklea (80 sqm) to Darra (200 sqm), Archerfield (400 sqm), Coopers Plains (800 sqm), and finally to the current Slacks Creek facility.
Ownership & Structure
Lifestyle Campers is owned and operated by the Swinglehurst family. John and Terri founded the company, and the wider Swinglehurst clan continue to work together in the business. The company is based in Slacks Creek, Queensland. There are no parent companies or corporate investors. The company sells both direct and through dealers.
Manufacturing
All Lifestyle Campers products are manufactured at the company’s 2,500 square metre facility in Slacks Creek, Queensland. The company builds both camper trailers and hybrid caravans, with a range that has expanded significantly from the original soft-floor designs. The Reconn R2 and R4, Iconn E2, and Fusionn Hypercamper represent their current model range. The company employs over 40 team members at the facility.
Market Position
Lifestyle Campers sits in the mid-range to upper-mid-range camper trailer and hybrid caravan segment. Their Reconn series is one of the most recognised names in the Australian camper trailer market, particularly the R2 which has developed a strong following among serious tourers. The Iconn and Fusionn models represent the company’s push into the hybrid caravan space. The company’s 20+ years of manufacturing experience is a key differentiator.
