About these figures
Every figure on CampSpec carries its source and the date it was read. This page records where the figures come from, what they measure, and what is done when a figure is missing.

What RAV entries measure
The Register of Approved Vehicles records vehicles approved for use on Australian roads. An entry is a provision-to-market signal: it is made when a vehicle enters the register, not when it is sold at retail. CampSpec therefore writes "RAV entries" and "market activity", never "sales" or "market share". Make-level counts are brand-level, not model-level, and tare-band counts are market-level, not brand-by-weight.
Where a CampSpec brand cannot yet be matched to a make on the register, the brand is shown as awaiting match. Nothing is estimated in its place.
Missing figures
A missing figure is stated, not papered over. Five states cover every value on the site:
The figure is published, with its source and date.
The manufacturer has not stated the figure.
CampSpec holds a figure but has not yet checked it against the manufacturer’s documentation.
No source record has been matched to the brand yet. Nothing is estimated in its place.
The source was checked and holds nothing. That is a finding, not a gap.
Tow vehicle figures
Kerb mass, GVM, GCM, braked and unbraked towing capacity and maximum ball load are taken per variant from the vehicle manufacturer's own published Australian specifications. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure for a variant it is shown as not published, and nothing is estimated in its place. Payload and the braked rating that survives at GVM are marked as derived: they are arithmetic on the published masses, not manufacturer figures. Figures for discontinued models and superseded generations come from the manufacturer's own documents as archived on the Internet Archive, which is where those specifications now live.
Dates
Every activity fact carries an as-at date, written absolutely — "as at 12 Aug 2026", never "2 days ago". Periods are named in full: "2025 calendar year". Derived values, such as payload, are marked as derived and never presented as manufacturer figures.
What is published and what is not
Public pages carry neutral or positive verifiable facts. The one class of negative entry is a public-record-backed event — an official recall or insolvency notice — published as a dated, neutrally worded entry with the source document linked. Inferences never appear: no health scores, no watchlists, no status markers, no trend commentary. Conclusions are left to the reader.
