About Lotus Caravans

Background

Lotus Caravans was founded in 2004 by George Josevski and his wife Lily. George was just 21 years old at the time, having spent his teenage years working at Supreme and Paramount Caravans. But caravan-building runs deeper in the family — George’s father Bill was the first Josevski to work in Australian caravans, having arrived in Australia in the 1970s and applying his trade to the industry. George developed a strong passion for manufacturing and, combined with his hands-on experience, launched Lotus with the aim of creating the highest quality, most robust, and most stylish off-road caravans in the country.

Lotus started with a small range of pop-tops and became an early pioneer of the tough, black checker-plate, rough-road aesthetic that has since become widespread in the Australian off-road caravan market. In 2011, the company moved to a 2,100 square metre factory in Campbellfield, Victoria. The company has since produced over 8,000 caravans, and today three generations of the Josevski family work in the business — George, his father Bill, and George’s eldest son Jayden.

Ownership & Structure

Lotus Caravans is a private, family-owned Australian company. George Josevski serves as Director of Operations. There are no parent companies or corporate investors. The company operates from its Campbellfield, Victoria factory and sells through a network of dealers across Australia, including George Day Caravans in Western Australia.

Manufacturing

All Lotus caravans are designed and built at the company’s factory in Campbellfield, Victoria. The company emphasises Australian-made construction with a focus on off-road durability. Lotus uses a combination of aluminium framing, composite panels, and heavy-duty chassis construction. The manufacturing process is more hands-on than large-volume producers, allowing for customisation and closer quality control. George Josevski has spoken publicly about preparing for increased competition from Chinese-manufactured caravans, positioning Lotus’s Australian-made credentials as a key differentiator.

Market Position

Lotus sits in the premium off-road caravan segment. Their key models include the Trooper (family off-roader), the Off Grid, the Sprint, and the Off Limits. Prices reflect the premium positioning — Lotus vans are not entry-level, but the company argues the build quality justifies the investment. Lotus’s combination of rugged capability and contemporary styling has earned them a strong following among serious tourers.
