About Stoney Creek Campers
Background
Stoney Creek Campers was established in 2012 by Hank Rojek, an early pioneer of the Australian camper trailer industry. In 1997, Rojek was planning a 16-week trip across Australia and realised there was no camper truly designed for the Australian Outback. He built one himself and went on to found Trackabout Off Road Camper Trailers, which he operated until selling the business in 2002.
Following constant requests from customers seeking tough, practical, and reliable campers, Rojek established Stoney Creek in 2012. From one location in Ipswich, Queensland, and one model, the brand has grown into a nationwide operation with showrooms across five states and a full model range. Over 12,999 campers have been sold since inception.
Ownership & Structure
Stoney Creek Campers is a family-owned and operated business, now in the hands of the second generation. Chris Rojek has taken over day-to-day operations with guidance from his father Hank. The company has production facilities in Queensland and Western Australia, with showrooms in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, and WA. They hold RVMAP accreditation.
Manufacturing
Production is based in Bundamba, Queensland, with additional facilities in Western Australia. Rojek emphasises the use of quality components including stainless steel greasable hinges, 4mm thick chassis steel, 8mm Anderson Plug wiring, and 12-inch electric brakes. The campers are described as “over-engineered” compared to competitors. The range has expanded from one model to include camper trailers, hybrid caravans, and motorhomes.
Market Position
Stoney Creek occupies the mid-range segment of the camper trailer market, with a presence that extends beyond campers into hybrid caravans and motorhomes. The nationwide showroom network gives them broader reach than many competitors. The Rojek family’s industry heritage (Trackabout) lends credibility to the brand.
