Vista RV

Background

Vista RV was founded by Louie Cretella, who with his wife Lorraine had a successful company (Prompt Sheetmetal) manufacturing electrical switchboards before branching out into camper trailers. The original design was created in 2005, with testing and trialling of the suspension and chassis beginning that year. The first production model was launched in 2007 at an exhibition centre, where they received orders from day one.

Louie’s parent company, Prompt Sheetmetal, has been manufacturing components for trailers and the RV industry since the 1980s, providing deep engineering heritage. The design philosophy centres on creating an off-road camper trailer capable of going anywhere a 4WD can go, that is easy to use and boasts a high level of comfort.

Ownership & Structure

Family-run business owned by Louie and Lorraine Cretella. The camper trailer operation sits alongside the Prompt Sheetmetal parent business. No corporate owners or sub-brands. The company sells through a direct model and select dealers.

Manufacturing

Almost entirely built in-house at Louie’s large sheetmetal engineering, fabrication, and camper workshop in Bayswater, in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs (4/23 Jersey Road, Bayswater, VIC 3153). The in-house manufacturing extends from the custom MS Series suspension (featuring 330mm/13” wheel travel with neoprene rubber bushes) through to the interior fitout. Key model milestones include the TVK (2011), XL (2012), and XLI/XLE (2018). An all-electric model with airbag suspension was planned for 2025.

Market Position

Premium off-road camper trailer segment. The models range from the compact TVK (Crossover Kompack) at 4.5m to the Crossover XL at 5.2m.
