About Vivid Caravans
Background
Vivid Caravans is a sub-brand of The Urban Group, designed and engineered by Urban Caravans founder Steve Trajcevski. Where Urban Caravans are built on TIG welded aluminium frames, Vivid represents an alternative construction approach — using an advanced PolyTech composite frame with fibreglass composite external panels and a TIG welded aluminium and fibreglass roof.
Vivid was created to offer a lighter weight and more affordable alternative to the top-spec Urban off-roaders, with pricing starting from under $80,000. The composite frame construction carries a lifetime guarantee against rot.
Ownership & Structure
Part of The Urban Group, owned by Steve Trajcevski. Vivid sits alongside Urban Caravans, Urban X Campers, and other divisions within the group, which employs approximately 200 staff across Australia. Vivid caravans are sold through dealers including the Hinterland Caravans chain.
Manufacturing
Manufactured in Melbourne as part of The Urban Group’s production facilities. The key construction difference from the parent Urban brand is the use of PolyTech composite framing rather than aluminium. The exterior uses fibreglass composite panels, providing weatherproofing and insulation advantages. The range includes the Explorer, Nomad, and other touring-focused models.
Market Position
Mid-range lightweight touring caravans. Vivid is positioned as an “Urban light” — offering Urban’s design philosophy and engineering rigour but with a composite frame construction at a more accessible price point. Vivid caravans start under $80,000 and use composite-frame construction.
